Zion Canyon, Utah

Majestic beauty that inspires the soul!  Its one of the West's most breathtaking spots.

This was my first visit to Zion Canyon,  a rushed escape from the non-stop frenzy of Las Vegas, Nevada.  What I found was a diverse land of spectacular majesty, and a perfect contrast to the sprawl of sin-city which left me vowing to return!
Navajo Sandstone Cliffs
These cliffs tower above you, and are incredibly sheer, on the day of my visit there were climbers on them.  The tour guide pointed them out to us or they would have gone unseen, as they were just a speck on the cliff.
The Three Patriarchs
The park runs a shuttle bus program, that is included in the park admission fee, you can design a self-tour as you like depending on how much time you plan to spend in the park.  The three patriarchs can be viewed at one of the many shuttle stops.

The Desert Swamp
Even here in this arid climate the river has spawned a miniature swamp at the base of the canyon.  The area's bio-diversity is truly remarkable.
